Thunder Mesa Kits are designed and manufactured at Dave Meek’s Thunder Mesa Studio in Arizona, USA. Ours is a family business with a strong emphasis on quality above quantity. Dave’s passion for the model railroading hobby is well known, and he shares that passion on his Thunder Mesa Trains YouTube channel in an ever growing series of build videos, layout projects, and railroad adventures.

Thunder Mesa Kits is an outgrowth of that passion for sharing the best parts of the hobby and for telling fun and entertaining stories with model trains. Dave is a designer and illustrator by training and he brings that artists’ eye to every project that he does.

Our only desire is to produce the best quality model kits that we possibly can. To that end, we employ the latest in laser cutting, engraving, and 3-D printing technology to ensure a consistent level of level of quality and a premium product. If there are any parts missing or broken beyond repair in a kit you receive from us, please contact us right away for a replacement.

Thunder Mesa Kits are only sold online through this website. We work directly with our customers and do not wholesale. Our hope is that any kit you receive from us is a joy to build and will bring many more years of enjoyment once it is finished as part of your layout, display or diorama.
